To maintain the effectiveness of the ceramic coating and keep your vehicle looking its best, please follow these aftercare instructions:

 

1. First Two Weeks:

Do not wash your car: Avoid washing your vehicle during the initial 14 days. If it gets dirty, gently wipe away surface contaminants with a clean, soft, and wet microfiber cloth. Soak the dropping or containment then wet the microfibres cloth. You can purchase our recommended microfiber cloths from Carrera Car Care.

 

At two the two week mark bring your car back to Carrera Car Care for the first wash, where we will check over the coating.

2. Regular Maintenance:

After the initial curing period, it's important to establish a regular maintenance routine to maximise the benefits of your ceramic paint protection.

 

Washing: Use a pH-neutral or ceramic-specific car wash soap. Avoid abrasive brushes or sponges, as they can scratch the coating. Opt for a high-quality microfiber wash mitt. We have created an Aftercare pack which you can purchase in-store or online which contains our recommended wash products.

 

Hand Wash: Whenever possible, hand wash your car. Rinse the vehicle thoroughly before washing to remove loose dirt and debris.

 

Drying: After washing, dry the car thoroughly with a clean, soft microfiber drying towel.

Avoid Automatic Car Washes: While the ceramic coating provides excellent protection, it's best to avoid automatic car washes with abrasive brushes or harsh chemicals, as they can diminish the coating's performance over time.

 

Bird Droppings and Bug Splatters: Remove bird droppings, insect splatters, and other contaminants as they can etch into and damage the coating if left for an extended period. Use a damp microfiber cloth to gently wipe away the residue.

 

Avoid Parking Under Trees: Parking under trees can expose your vehicle to sap, pollen, and bird droppings, which can be corrosive. Whenever possible, park your car in a covered or shaded area.

 

3. Additional Recommendations:

 

Ceramic Coating Maintenance Products: Consider using ceramic coating maintenance products such as ceramic detail sprays or toppers to enhance and extend the lifespan of your ceramic coating. Just ask us and we can recommend the best products.

 

Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect your vehicle's paint for any signs of damage or contaminants. Address any issues promptly to maintain the effectiveness of your coating.

 

Professional Maintenance: We recommend scheduling professional maintenance services with Carrera Car Care at least every 6 months if the vehicle is mostly kept outdoors to ensure the coating remains in optimal condition.
